MOVING 6TH MARCH PARADE TO VARIOUS CITIES IS A WASTE OF TAXPAYER MONEY
‘I humbly advise the State to desist from the logistical burden of moving Ghana’s independence anniversary around. It doesn’t show decentralization in anyway. It is a burden on my money and the monies of cherished Ghanaians who pay tax. Super-powers like the US and Russia can afford to do this as a show of military and economic might. A struggling Third-World country like Ghana should not put itself under any pressure to prove anything to the world. Moving troops and military hardware around costs money. The wealth at the disposal of those in power today is not theirs, they are only custodians for a while and they will account for how they spend our money here in this world and when we all eventually meet our Maker. Countries like Tanzania are scaling down the cost of such ceremonies and channeling taxpayer resources into areas that matter the most. I hope this humble advice is taken in good faith’.
