Organizers of northern Ghana Entertainment Awards (NEA) has indefinitely postponed the nominee jam scheduled to come off on Friday, 20th March, 2020 at the northern regional capital, Tamale.
The organizers of the most prestigious Northern Entertainment Awards in a statement issued by the Director of Communications of NEA, Abubakari Sadiq Righteous on Saturday, 14th March, 2020 stated that the indefinite postponment is due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.
“In the effort of preventing the spread of the novel Coronavirus, we have decided to put on hold the nominees jam which was expected to bring together over 5,000 entertainers in the five regions of the North. The postponement also became necessary following advise from medical experts due to the huge crowd expected”. The statement added.
The organizers however revealed that the main awards night scheduled for March 27, 2020 will come off as expected.
“This is because a limited number of about 200 entertainers will grace the programme. We have also put in place a medical team to screen all participants of the main event at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium”. The organizers noted.
