The President of Mfantseman Saltpond Development Alliance, Osagyefo Ernest D-Graft Egyir, has called on government-appointed heads of institutions in the Mfantseman municipality to redirect their focus to Saltpond, the municipal capital.
Speaking at the maiden Saltpond Easter Fest, organised by MSDA, Osagyefo Egyir emphasized that Saltpond is trailing behind in development and needs a collective push to reclaim its former glory.
“I respectfully call on government appointed heads of institutions within Saltpond and the municipality to begin giving renew attention to Saltpond not only as a town but as a municipal capital,” he said.
He bemoaned the slow pace of development in Saltpond, stressing that the town boasts immense tourism potential, a strong human capital base, and abundant natural resources – assets that can be leveraged to create jobs and opportunities for residents.
“Saltpond is endowed with Tourism potentials, strong human capital and valuable natural resources that must be deliberately harnessed to create jobs and enhance opportunities for our people,” he added.
The Saltpond Easter Fest, themed “Celebrate, Connect, and Contribute,” aimed to bring together businesses and individuals to showcase local products, forge connections, and inject joy into the festive season.
