The Industrial Relations Officer of the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU), Mr Emmanuel Abeiku Aggrey, has advised school matrons to carry out their duties with honesty and dedication.
In an exclusive interview with OTEC News Reporter, Solomon Nimo, Mr. Aggrey reminded workers that just as Ghana celebrates Dr. Kwame Nkrumah for his selfless service, they too will be remembered if they perform their roles diligently.
He cautioned those allegedly diverting food items meant for students to their homes to desist from the practice. According to him, such acts are against the law, and anyone caught will face prosecution in court. He stressed that the union will not defend offenders, since stealing food meant for students is a clear crime.
Mr. Aggrey further warned that being caught in such acts would not only bring disgrace to the individuals involved but also to their colleagues, families, and the entire educational community.
