Ghana has strongly condemned the U.S. military operation in Venezuela that led to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, labeling it an illegal and unilateral invasion.
In a firm statement, the Foreign Ministry denounced the January 3rd strikes and abduction as grave violations of international law, sovereignty, and the UN Charter.

It also rejected President Trump’s remarks about “running” Venezuela as echoes of colonialism.
Ghana demanded immediate de-escalation, the unconditional release of Maduro and his wife, and affirmed that only the Venezuelan people have the right to determine their country’s future. The position places Ghana among nations opposing the U.S. action.
